Hey everyone, I have a proposal: Rename Switzerland to HELVETIA . Hear me out: A better historical representation than “Schwyz”: Naming the entire modern country after one single canton happened mostly by historical coincidence because outsiders generalized it. Helvetia reflects a broader shared heritage without arbitrarily elevating one canton over the other 25. Works in all national languages (and English): Right now we use Schweiz, Suisse, Svizzera, and Svizra. Divided and clumsy. Helvetia is already our unifying identity: in Confoederatio Helvetica, on our coins, stamps, urls, etc. Plus it works seamlessly in English. Most important: it just sounds cooler: Helvetia sounds ancient, timeless, and distinct on the global stage. A bureaucratic and re-branding headache? Sure, but: What do you think? Would you support Helvetia ? Ready to launch the initiative? submitted by /u/slartiblartpost
