Hey folks, I’ve been using Claude Code for 5 months already. The product is nice, LLMs are pretty solid but I often stumble upon one issue, and that is: Claude doesn’t seem like a ‘professional software engineer’. What I mean by this? If I write a plan where I generally describe what needs to be done, Claude ALWAYS chooses to go with defining methods for each functionality and skips OOP totally. It doesn’t use design patterns at all, so after it writes the code I must go through each line of the code by myself and suggest “You can use Factory at ‘@folder_path’ for this and that.” or “Define interface with these methods, define a class for the logic that you implemented at ‘@…’, define class for X”, etc. I tried to add this in my CLAUDE.md file, an instruction to follow OOP principles, SOLID principles, use design patterns where applicable etc., but sometimes it ignores them and some other times it just goes full OOP and defines a classes for banal things. Can you share your experience of using CC professionally and not for vibe-coding? My main concern when building with CC is to implement a scalable solution and not a spaghetti code, which works but makes it hard for me to read and understand (and presumably for an AI agent in the future as well) submitted by /u/AnthinoRusso
