Command fails → Claude investigates → three turns later it’s diagnosing a bug that doesn’t exist because the real error got buried. Got sick of it. Paper is a tiny local CLI: paper run <command> . On failure it captures the exit code, stderr, and git state into .paper/latest.json , sealed with an HMAC receipt, plus an instruction block telling the agent to read the report first. Tested in a fresh session and it picked it up unprompted, diagnosed correctly, didn’t touch code. It’s fully local. repo at https://github.com/varman96/paper-cli if you want to know more about how it works. submitted by /u/Tight-Instruction-17
