Hey everyone, new here. I’m a writer and creative strategist and recently went down a rabbit hole researching AI psychosis and the history of spiritualism. The parallels are pretty strange. People have always looked to external sources of authority to resolve uncertainty, but now those systems are not only conversational but also corporate-owned. Wrote a piece exploring the psychology of anthropomorphism and how easily we mistake responsiveness for intelligence. Curious if anyone else has been thinking about this? OR even better, if anyone has any recommended research? https://cultholdings.substack.com/p/the-demon-in-the-machine submitted by /u/Avenir_bold

Ignorance, lack of intelligence, and the need to fill the God-shaped hole the non-believers have never been able to fill (ofc it has to be with anything besides God, because that would require accountability and following strict moral guidelines and that’s just no fun).
