I’ve known him almost 4 years, I was married at the time and so was he. We started work together and were in the same hire class. We grew close as friends, joked and the connection grew when we both had issues through our marriages. No infidelity, but flirting and acknowledging mutual chemistry. We acknowledged there were feelings, connection, and attraction and we left it at that. I shared personal things with him, and he did as well. And he also had went through a divorce. About a year later, I’m separated and muster up the courage to directly ask him if he was still interested in something casual as we discussed. He told me he had a girlfriend and I had no idea. I respected that and wished him the best. Sincerely wanted the best for my friend. I asked him if I’d misread the situation and he acknowledged the feelings were mutual it was just bad timing. With us going through a divorce and being married. I was talking to a friend today, and he told me I’d come up in conversation. He confided in him that he thinks I’m pretty,we had a good connection and I was easy to talk to but it was wrong timing. he said this conversation happened about a month ago I noticed about a week he and the girl had broken up, and I initiated contact with a work related question. He helped me with it and I followed up today, with what he helped me with and I checked in on how things were going with him otherwise. He was short, said good and basically disengaged from the conversation. If I don’t get anything, I just would love to have the friendship back, I miss the conversations and everything. I also initiated to show that I don’t feel any type of way or I’m not upset or anything and I was still interested in the friendship. He’s generally not one to initiate contact with anyone in general so I took the step. I’m just curious on what I should do or what a man would want in this situation. , submitted by /u/personalcheesepizza
