I just upgraded from Pro to Max 5x at $100/month. Here’s what Anthropic support confirmed to me: The 5x multiplier applies to the 5-hour session limit, not the total weekly usage limit . The session limit resets immediately when upgrading, but the weekly limit does not. My weekly usage counter showed 20% before upgrading and 26% afterward. Support explained that the percentage continues to reflect usage accumulated since the start of the week, without recalculating previous usage against the new plan’s allocation. In other words, you pay $100 or $200 without getting the advertised multiplier applied to your total weekly usage . And when upgrading midweek, all previously accumulated usage remains counted as it was. This is a major issue. The price goes up, but the weekly allowance doesn’t increase proportionally in the same way. At these prices, this distinction should be clearly explained before purchase, not discovered after paying. Are the $100 and $200 Max plans really worth it if the advertised multiplier doesn’t apply to the total weekly usage limit?
