Back in the dark ages of opus 3-4.0 I was using playwright to automate front end UI and browser testing and it was extremely inefficient, slow and overall painful. The chrome plugin for claude changed everything, its very quick and efficient and doesnt have to rewrite a script 15 times to execute a sequence of actions successfully. Due to claude’s oversensitive guide rails i now have to use GLM 5.3 for some work which I use in the claude code harness and it obviously doesnt have any similar chrome plugin so I’m wondering whether there’s any type of open source solution that can be used for a claude chrome experience using a non claude model? I tried both playwright and playwright mcp again but there’s just no comparison to the efficiency and speed of the claude plugin. Any tips would be appreciated. submitted by /u/HappySl4ppyXx
