About a week ago I changed my character name as part of a bet with a friend (replaced one of the words with Spoon). Since yesterday I have been trying to restore my character to the original name but it won’t let me. After fighting through two sessions of AI chatbots that didn’t understand my issue, I somehow found a Mod that understand it even less well. They pointed me to this link: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/206519409-Character-names Here it says the following: “Your previous name will be reserved to your character for at least 35 days, or for up to 6 months, depending on how long you had it. You’ll lose this reserved name if you change your name again, the name is removed from game, or the reservation period ends.” However, even after buying a bond and redeeming it for a name change, the browser and in-game name selectors both say that the name is unavailable. It has only been a week, so another player could not have taken it. The live agent I’ve spoken to has been less than useless. “When a name is changed, it is usually reserved for some time, so if you change your mind you can revert back to it. But we can’t make the name available which is not available to be used at the moment.” Can someone explain what I have to do to get my old name back?
