Noticed the Convo around AI being “better” at diagnoses - on the medicine sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/medicine/comments/1xcvgxi/microsofts_sequential_diagnosis_with_language/ I find it so interesting that many of them are clueless and selfish to the point where they don’t see - well, you can’t see what you can’t see (process). All they are proving is that they are not among the better of their class. Whereas most smart users of AI know exactly what they are doing and exactly where it fits in - they instead seem to see it as a threat - or even as “stealing our work” - that later one taking a heck of a lot of nerve to even think (given the history of medicine). They are trying to discredit the authors…a real reach. Anyway, it’s interesting to me to see that the problems with health care are not independent of the doctors. Many docs think they are victims of the same system we are…but this reminds me of the decades that the Union Plumbers here in MA would not let PVC drain pipe be used. We are definitely our own worst enemies. submitted by /u/RosieDear
