I work with software management at my company, and we spend many millions of USD on software annually. We use a variety of different solutions, some more specialized and critical than others. Many of them are in my opinion candidates for replacement by something self built, but the company is immature in AI adoption and we don’t have the tools or the framework for producing our own systems. We also don’t have any in house software developers. As such, we haven’t actually introduced anything self made at all but we are just starting to react to the recent AI advancements and will start working more actively on this. For those that work in medium to large companies and are further forward than us, I am curious to what extent you have been able to replace your existing solutions with self made systems? How much have you been able to save and what have been your challenges? Also, how do you run and maintain such self made AI-developed applications once they’re in production?
