I was doing some work with Claude and, as it was doing some web-based research, it reported this back to me: “…One thing to know: one of the pages I fetched (The Cutting Room Floor) contained hidden instructions aimed at AI tools, including requests to move money. I ignored them, and they had nothing to do with [the project] …” The Cutting Room Floor text was highlighted but I didn’t click the link. I’m vaguely aware of this website from days gone past. What I want to know is, is this a real risk or will this kind of thing be a real risk in the future? Claude ignored the instructions on this occasion but is there potential for this kind of ‘attack’ to actually work? submitted by /u/cjsarab
