Not too long ago, Tpapa had a !depression command in his stream, which he used to let his viewers know that he had been struggling with depression but was doing better. And honestly, good for him. No one deserves to go through that. Now, !depression has been replaced with !play, which directs viewers straight to a gambling website. At the same time, he’s started streaming gambling alongside RuneScape, presumably as an additional source of income. The irony is hard to ignore. Gambling can contribute to depression, addiction, and financial ruin, and gambling-related harm is associated with an increased risk of suicide. It’s one thing to choose to gamble yourself, but it’s another to actively promote it to your audience, some of whom may be vulnerable to the very issues he recently spoke about struggling with. I’m genuinely glad he’s doing better. I just find it disappointing to see someone who has openly talked about their struggles now promoting something that can cause those same struggles in others. submitted by /u/Winkelmedewerker
