Hey there, I am Swiss person living in Switzerland. Last week I had a low risk encounter and I am scared of HIV. I would love, at my own expense (not reimbursed by insurance), to do a HIV PCR test since they give good results at 10-14 after encounter. The labs I have called say they only do that with confirmed HIV exposures and with a GP’s recommandation. On my last exposure, I did find a lab but the experience there was so bad (nurse answered phone while taking blood), that I don’t feel comfortable going back. Regular testing places only do 4th gen test which are only good at 45 days. I am around Fribourg/Bern but can move. If you have any tips, I’d love to know. Unfortunately, it seems in Switzerland we are trying everything to reduce costs. That’s probably why ER refused to give me PEP. Thanks for your advice ! submitted by /u/Intrepid_Letter4719
