I really enjoy using Claude Code, but one thing I struggle with is getting Opus to keep its responses concise. I often find myself asking it to “be more concise”, “simplify this” or “explain it in plain English”. I imagine I’m wasting quite a few tokens doing this repeatedly! I’ve already added instructions to my CLAUDE.md , but they don’t seem to be consistently followed. I’m a non-technical vibe coder, so I generally just need short, plain-English explanations of what matters, without too much technical detail. Has anyone found a reliable way to achieve this?
