I own and run my own e-commerce company and something I’ve noticed in the past year or so:

  • No SaaS tool has decreased its pricing
  • Dev agencies still charge the same hourly rate and don’t go any faster Guess what? We started replacing some of the SaaS tools by coding them ourselves using Claude Code and we now are also able to develop new website features and fix bugs ourselves, essentially for free. How freaking ridiculous is it to be billed $100-1,000/month by a SaaS for something that runs nearly for free on their server. Or pay $30-40/hour a dev when it should now be a fraction of the time (they were billing us the same number of hours). We, the customers, are wising up! Even my dad who’s 56 has gotten a Claude subscription for 10 of his employees and they started rebuilding the company website and internal tools. submitted by /u/nelty78
