I use Fable 5.1 as a sort of coordinator. The complete disregard of instructions started happening yesterday and has peaked today. One example: I gave what I thought was a clear instruction; “Ultracode is on, run at most 10 Sonnet agents to review and fix ___ specific issues in the instruction set on this repository.” It worked for a while, then the next thing I see is my weekly usage (20x plan) increased by 11% and Fable says, “I hit the 1,000-agent limit while running the task so I had to stop, would you like me to work on fixing the remaining items manually?” Another glaring instance was, I told it that “redacted or overruled instructions should be removed instead of a strikethrough and a note saying what was decided instead,” just to change a rule so it would stop doing this, because it had built up around 90 rules and only 30 were actually relevant due to this issue. It worked for a few minutes, then proceeded to tell me that it had reviewed all the rules and added strike throughs and additional notes to fix whatever was stale/overruled. These are not the only instances; I’ve had to undo nearly every change made since yesterday because of this, and it is introducing serious time and reliability issues to my projects. It’s getting ridiculous, it directly contradicts very clear instructions in various tasks now. submitted by /u/Byurt
