Im talking to this one girl, thinking about pursuing her for a long-term relationship that can lead to marriage. She’s very a good person I can tell. But everytime we try to communicate, its as if she’s not capable of truly understanding how things can impact me emotionally. I try to communicate openly and often end up trying to explain what happened and how it affected me (generally over text) but she feels I get aggressive?? I dont, maybe I do? So I said ok, and have significantly toned down long explanations for simpler ones using positive language. She starts joking that im “so sensitive and very emotional and that im not independent because every little thing hurts me 😂😂😂” - yes her literal words with the emojis and then when I tried explain how being an adult and being fully independent has nothing to do with me feeling emotions…she got upset that im mad at her. Now its like - not only are my emotions my responsibility, but her emotions are my responsibility too. Every single time, even in 2 other past relationships…whenever I just needed gentle loving emotional support from getting upset or being sad, the women have ended up getting upset over me being upset and now the tables have turned and its my job to take care of her. Im fkin tired boss. I dont even wanna pursue relationships at this point but feeling pressured from family to find someone and settle down sooner as im getting older (29m). What yall’s experience been and how do you manage this situation? submitted by /u/diktater29
