Hi, My family business is of waste paper trading in Eastern India. It’s a very unorganized business with only my father and he has 10-12 employees having functions like accounting, payroll and payments, etc. In this business, we sell to paper mills waste paper (they quote prices and we sell at those prices) and we earn some margin on what we sell by determining our cost price basis selling price. Currently, accounting is done in a khatabook (Red ledger copy). Rates are maintained in disorganized excel sheets, rate copies (handwritten). I am thinking of setting up an MIS for him (not very sophisticated) but one which should be very functional in terms of tracking suppliers, customers, rates as and when they change, be able to do a trend analysis of different rates. look at revenue and profit for each day. Will Claude be able to do this? What are the limitations? i don’t come from an engineering / technical background so I am not sure about the architecture of this and how to deploy it on multiple computers? should this be an artifact? or should i build using chatgpt codex or claude code?
