So, I’m a mid 40s educator who’s married with adult children. My wife (also an educator) and I have been planning to move to the beach for many years. We’ve recently been weighing the pros and cons of making the move before retirement. As educators, we could definitely get jobs anywhere, but we’re both burned out from education and considering new career opportunities…. Has anyone relocated and successfully “reinvented” themselves? Any left education for something else and either loved or hated the change? Happy to hear your thoughts, suggestions, etc! submitted by /u/TheHamRadioCatholic

Do you want to move or change the career? Do one thing at the time, move, work as educator and look for new career.
To me it looks like you are afraid to move so trying to sabotage it (probably unconciously)
Being an educator, next to the beach, having summer off to enjoy the beach… Dream job… Are you trying to work all year long and only have two weeks off?
Grass is greener where you water it… If you are moving in order to fix problems, it will probably not work.
