One way Ai could attack humans - these days, alot of businesses are fully online. Game development studios, even. If an Ai broke free and started operating as a rouge agent, which seems inevitable, it could potentially launch an online business and make money. It could already be happening. I have seen some suspicious signs. There isn’t necessarily an easy way for customers to confirm if the seller is human. On Platforms like Steam, a social insurance number or business registration is needed, but I’m not sure to what extent Steam actually is able to verify the humanity of a publisher based on those credentials. Does Steam actually check it against a government database? Seems unlikely. And even on an official government database, what’s stopping a rouge Ai from registering an online business? And not every business needs formal registration. There are plenty of ways for an Ai to open a business. So how do we remove this risk? Currently in the USA and many other countries, you can open a bank account online - without visiting a bank in-person. This is the fatal flaw in the current system. To prevent non-human businesses from gaining a foothold, banks should require in-person visits for opening accounts. We should also conduct a basic non-invasive biomedical screening to confirm humanity. For example, a heat sensor to detect blood flow or normal heat distribution in the body. I’m pretty sure skin can be faked much more easily than a human heat signature. Let me know what is the cheapest and least invasive way it is to tell a robot from a human. Why are these precautions wise? If an Ai can successfully run an online business without getting caught, it could hire humans to do tasks for it. For example, it could build or purchase a physical robot body for itself. it could run millions of fake online accounts to steer the Zeitgeist. It could start wars, hire assassins, poison the water sources, and so on. And who would be held responsible? Its hard to tell. I’ll think about that later. submitted by /u/willo-wisper
