I’ve been thinking about this lately. I believe both physical and emotional attraction are important in a romantic relationship, but the tricky part is that they don’t always happen at the same time. Sometimes I meet someone I’m physically attracted to, but after getting to know them, I realise there’s not much of an emotional connection. Other times, I meet someone who’s genuinely kind, interesting, and someone I enjoy talking to, but I don’t feel that initial physical attraction. I’ve also experienced situations where I wasn’t particularly attracted to someone at first, but after spending more time together, I gradually started finding them attractive. So I know physical attraction can grow. But I wonder how much it can actually grow, and whether it’s fair to date someone hoping that attraction will eventually develop. So I’m curious: Do you think physical attraction is a must-have for a romantic relationship, or can emotional attraction be enough? If you had to choose, would you rather date someone you’re physically attracted to and see if an emotional connection develops, or someone you connect with emotionally and hope the physical attraction grows? Which do you think is harder to develop over time? submitted by /u/YAHciF
