When I started out in RuneScape, I thought I’d train mining and smithing to make my own armour. I went to the eastern mining spot below varrock, walk all the way to Lumbridge to use it on the furnace and then walk all the way to Varrock to smith it. This was before they added a bank on top of Lumbridge castle. These were my first weeks/months playing. I remember I discovered the Al Kharid mine but the scorpions were too much of a hassle to deal with, and there were always people. I think I killed that giant rat on the way to Varrock east till I got around 33 combat from it. I was pretty stoked once I discovered the dwarven mines and Falador when the low level scorpions wouldn’t attack me, but those stupid king scorpions did. I think I got to around level 50 smithing and mining doing this, until my irl friends showed me how to train combat and do rune ess running at the air altar to make money. I remember how competition was always such a big deal back in the day. Unlocking the Elven zone was a godsend because there were rocks to mine without much or little to no competition, or the gnome stronghold had magic trees to cut when magic logs were like 1.5K to 2K each. submitted by /u/VlaamseGaap
