Hi! This might be a weird topic. I am currently in my mid 30s and I finally started my first “real” job. This means I finally have time for hobbies again, as many were put on pause prior due to my education schedule. Now I find it hard to have common interests with my male coworkers. All of my coworkers are into hobbies like watches, golf, fishing, cars, their kid sports leagues, bourbon, etc. I still like my hobbies from my younger days (gaming, MMA, bouldering, and I guess I like cars too) and I find it hard to connect to my coworkers. Usually the only common interest we can have is tracking cars. Everything else I feel so out of place. When I try to find people with my common interests, they tend to be much younger and then I feel like the weird unc of the group. How did you guys start to transition into more “adult” hobbies? It’s hard for me because although I’m married, my wife and I are DINKs and most people in my age group have kids. I just feel like I’m in a different place in life and it’s hard to find community (especially since we just moved to a new city). submitted by /u/NapkinZhangy
