Has anyone else noticed how in the recent months this sub has become nothing but “eXpAtS” whining about how horrible Switzerland is, yet refusing to leave? I’m not saying you’re not allowed to talk about things you don’t like about a country but most of these posts and comments feel incredibly superficial. It’s like these people come here exclusively for the high salaries and then are surprised when they find out that no one was waiting for them. The food sucks because it doesn’t conform to their subjective expectations from whatever place they’re from. The nightlife sucks because a city with 450k inhabitants surprisingly doesn’t offer the same as cities with multiple millions of inhabitants. The public administrations suck because they actually give a damn about rules and don’t act like they’re in a banana republic. And, most importantly of all of course, the people suck because it’s totally one hundred percent impossible to make friends here. Which is obviously the fault of the Swiss (never mind the fact that like a third of the people in large cities are foreigners) and has nothing to do with them outgrowing their late twenties in a foreign country without any of their childhood friends and connections from their formative years. submitted by /u/LakesideCoffee
