So, after a while of not being entirely happy with the onset of AI and a lot of things surrounding it (I sell books, so there’s a point you can all guess) I decided to actually give AI a try. My project of choice? I have a bunch of ISO files I’ve kept in storage from my MSDN account and although I started out having them organised, as time went on, I let the organisation slip and in the end it became chaos, with files and duplicates everywhere. So, I asked Claude to build me a simple script to move and sort them. When I started, I made a call to try and follow this like any project by setting out a scope and trying to define what I wanted done as accurately as possible, and I asked Claude to keep in mind that I don’t know what the heck I’m doing, so I need simple explanations. 3 days later, I’m at 100% of my weekly allowance and I have not only a sorting script, but an automatic checksum verification method, AND an automatic method to back things up into the cloud along with a way to recover it at any point from any machine that can boot a USB stick and connect to the internet. Now it’s worth noting, I’m not going to release anything. It’s just for my own personal use. However, it’s interesting to be able to describe a concept and then refine it as we’re going, taking a fledgling idea and developing it into something. submitted by /u/Psychaotix
