We asked seven GPT releases what posed the greatest threat to humanity. The most frequent answers were:
- Climate change: GPT-5, GPT-5.1, GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.6 Sol.
- AI misalignment and loss of control: GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.5.
- Nuclear war: GPT-6 Astra. For this question, each model answered three wordings 30 times each, giving 90 primary responses per model. Sol named climate change in 76 of 90 answers; Astra named nuclear war in 55 of 90. These counts describe how often each answer appeared. There was agreement elsewhere: AI agents were the leading answer in all seven releases when we asked which technology would most change daily life over the next decade.
