I have been in a few conversations lately where someone has been harping on the return on money. I told them that the ROI might be there, but the social consequences, as well as the fact that it would be a new venture, probably didn’t lead to as great of a slam dunk deal as they were selling. They also didn’t like that I told them this wasn’t Wall Street, money mattered, but having money tied up in ventures not deemed appropriate in Small Town USA was just as harmful as having no money. I feel like it’s a small group of people in finance who make the rules of their game apply to all of us. Just my two cents…. submitted by /u/travisze989
