I used to work with Claude in VSCode, but found no use for it after I stopped looking at code that much. Claude Code let me switch chats across projects more easily. Now that I’ve been using it for a few months, my sidebar (Claude Code desktop) has become a dumpster fire mess. It was still kind of manageable when it was just a organised in folders, but since there are now “environments” and the visual hierarchy between a folder/environment and a chat is almost non-existent (is there even a designer at Anthropic?), I’m constantly find myself scrolling through to find my active chats. To make things worse, when you start a chat, it just designates a title, but I sometimes find myself switching topics halfway through the chat, making the title obsolete. I thought starting new chats might save tokens and solve the title-issue, but there’s now just more random chats in the sidebar. Is it me? Am I missing a feature that cleans up the chats? Am I using it wrong? Or is the desktop app just wrong for my needs? I’m not interested in switching to a terminal again. There must be a better way, no? submitted by /u/Raspieman
