Now that everyone knows that running more than a 3 man is trolling, and maximising damage over everything else gets you more points which means more chance at a purple, finding raids in TFA worlds has gone from fun to miserable, and it has taken most of the enjoyment out of the raid for me. I have 30kc, never gotten a cabbage and I always bring freezes and defence reduction specs as I am always willing to sacrifice some of my dps to ensure that the raid would be successful. In 4-5 person raids, you would always get at least one or two people with a ralos, and additional freezes, which made dreadnoth and the mage void flares much less stressful to deal with. Now, people will just withdraw from a party if you add more than 2 people, and in the 5 raids I did today, 1 person took a ralos, 0 other people took freezes and it was just a thrall and ZCB pissing contest to see whoever could get the most points. Several people wouldn’t even attempt to deal with xarth corpses, and just sat there tbowing the boss to try and maximise the number of big hitsplats they could get. Along with that, the atmosphere of the raid feels like it has completely changed. It really feels now like everyone is completely out for themselves, like teammates are just NPCS that exist in the raid with you in order to play the raid and roll for purples. I met some cool people, especially when learning the raid to get my first KC, but now it feels like no one says anything except maybe a “gl” at the end and an “ok” when agreeing on dd for archive guardian. Just remove the point system entirely. Make it a flat rate to get purples, which scales higher than it currently does with more people so 3+ raids aren’t completely impossible to get, and everyone in the raid gets the same chance to have the purple in their name, as long as they contributed enough to not get a cabbage. Its really quite baffling that this system exists at all, as it serves 0 purpose except to incentivise selfish degenerate playstyles, and to gatekeep people who aren’t in max. If you insist on it being a team raid, with no solo scaling (although I personally think there should be, just remove vine in solo and maybe lower archive guardian laser damage idk, those are genuinely the only two hardline team mechanics) then why are you incentivised to be as little of a team player as possible? I suspect these issues are exacerbated by the fact that they’re FFA worlds, but unfortunately I only have a couple friends who play this game, and they aren’t progressed enough to raid with me since this raid is so gear reliant (they have a little GIM and are in their 60-70s for skills), so I am left to find people who care about nothing except maximising their number, which is very demotivating. I know its already been said several times but I wanted to add my own take. I saw that there will be changes to the raid next week to hopefully address some of these issues, but I will probably just go back to TOA if I want to play a raid until then. TFA has been my first major experience with playing with others in raids, as I wasn’t playing when TOB got released and so never got the chance to learn, and trying to find raids in 416 or wdr felt like pulling teeth so I gave up. Also if anyone knows any cool mostly eu timezone english speaking clans, I’d love to join one. submitted by /u/Unhappy-Actuator3714
