Apple officially expanded its risk disclosures, and they specifically called out autonomous AI agents. They’re basically warning that agentic software could bypass permissions, execute unapproved code, or even manipulate data in ways that present massive legal and reputational risks to the company. It’s interesting because they aren’t just talking about hallucinations anymore—they’re explicitly highlighting the “unintended or unpredictable” behaviors of agents acting on behalf of users. But looking at the bigger picture, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Anthropic have all added almost identical rogue-agent warning language to their filings recently. Is the tech actually getting that unpredictable behind closed doors, or is this just standard corporate boilerplate implications so they can’t get sued when a third-party agent inevitably screws up on an iPhone or Mac?
