I’m not asking how we should fix the loneliness epidemic, I’m asking what the end of the loneliness epidemic looks like. Is it every man having a girlfriend/wife? is it deeper male friendships? wider groups of male friendships? more platonic female friendships? As a woman I feel like I often get mixed messages from men regarding this. On one hand, as a woman if I know men are lonely I might want to ask male acquaintances, friends, or even strangers how they’re doing, talk to them on a deeper level, etc. On the other hand, I have been told this is awful to do because it leads the guy on, especially if I show more “care” I might be perceived as being into him and giving false hope. Which makes me want to just avoid interacting with men, which probably contributes to loneliness. So I’m just curious, what is the actual end goal? should women just stay away from the issue and let the guys resolve it? submitted by /u/QueenMackeral
