I found multiple rebuttals pretty nasty during AAAI reviewing. Like, there is no politeness or respect sentences like “I appreciate the effort of reviewers…” or simply “Thank you for …”. There is also no reasoning paragraphs like why we did this. All the replies are like simply listing the weaknesses, posting some new results with a few words like “new ablations, 10 tasks, 8 better, 5 seeds”, without any discussion or explanation. I didn’t find any nasty rebuttals last year, but this year I found multiple in one conference. When I was a PhD student, I was taught to be kind to the reviewers and try to make sure the rebuttal or response easy to read. It’s more or less like, if I don’t show respect to the reviewers, they have no reason to show respect to me. submitted by /u/Warm_Ad4302
