I’ve been testing Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok, and honestly, Claude has been the most disappointing. Here’s one example. I asked Claude to open a website and identify its owner. The owner’s name was literally mentioned on the website. Claude tried FOUR TIMES and eventually gave up. Then I gave ChatGPT the exact same prompt. Five seconds later, I had my answer. Not only did ChatGPT identify the owner, but it also provided a business overview and a detailed analysis. All without me having to ask for it. And this wasn’t some complicated technical task. It was basic website research. Now, I know people will bring up Claude Code, its coding capabilities and how naturally it writes. Fair enough. But those aren’t exclusive advantages anymore. Other AI tools can do those things too, including free versions. Things got even more interesting when I confronted Claude about the difference in performance and asked whether I should purchase its paid plan. Its response? “Don’t buy anything based on this chat. I’m not sure a paid plan would fix the specific problem here.” Claude also admitted that it had made mistakes, stopped searching too early, and incorrectly blamed the website rather than acknowledging its own failure. For context: Both were brand-new accounts. Both received exactly the same prompts. Neither had previous conversation history. I’m attaching the actual screenshots. Judge for yourself. I’m not saying ChatGPT is perfect, but I genuinely don’t understand why Claude is being hyped so much when basic tasks like this can go so wrong. What am I missing? Is Claude actually worth paying for? P.S. Claude itself basically advised me not to buy its paid plan. 😂 submitted by /u/WisdomLoading
