To keep a long story short, I was always into tech staying on top of trends and keeping up with new technology, currently the final weeks of a brutal 6 month long DevOps bootcamp which basically guarantees me a job (80 study hours a week, about 1600 hours overall) I’m really into emerging technologies and new approaches I like everything cutting edg, but while I was keeping up with the “news”… in reality, I was very late to the party with my first model being GPT 4o which released 2 years ago. My AI learning curve hasn’t really changed up until 2 months ago when I switchedto claude code… first added some plugins, downloading some top rated skills and slowly discovering what it is capable of. Now I have a whisper model for talking with claude and KEV decision model for voice commands both running on my panther lake NPU, also mapped a PTT button to my mouse instead of typing everything. Not long ago when new tech was announced/discovered there was time to prepare, to process, learn and adapt. Today it feels like if you miss even a month of updates, you lose on possible productivity, efficiency, cost optimization and maybe even completely miss crucial info which could solve lots of problems for you specifically but everything is just rapidly accelerating. So as it stands I feel like I should have started to learn Machine Learning 10 years ago and that I’m somehow both ahead of the curve compared to the general population and so behind the curve compared to people on this sub for example. How do you manage to keep up? How do you cope and deal with the constant FOMO feeling? submitted by /u/Theoneofmanyz
