Opus 4.6 might be technically better on a few things, but in practice it’s been frustrating to work with on Claude Code. My main issues:

  • It constantly assumes what I want instead of following what I actually ask for
  • Those assumptions are wrong most of the time
  • It ignores parts of my instructions, like it cherry-picks what to execute
  • It defaults to the simplest, laziest approach and gives mid output instead of actually thinking through the problem I’ve lost hours in the last few days going back and forth correcting things that 4.5 would have gotten right on the first try. Anyone else feeling this or is it just me? submitted by /u/Lexs_07
