When I and my best friend were drinking, my friend told he would call a friend who is a distant relative of mine. I never fond of him so mostly at the table I talked him a few. This guy (I will use him as this guy) went mad. My best friend thought he could bring him to hotel to sleep. Because I know my distant relative was dumb ass I told him “I will sleep at my friend home”. This guy went mad again. After pub closed, we moved to another pub there a waitress from first pub came to me to sit with me. My dumb distant relative dumb ass tried to chat with her he thought she would be into him. I was too bored with his talk, so I hugged her and kissed her cheek. The guy went furious. After she went, he throwed his anger at me as he went mad. The best thing he could there is to shout loud and yelled at me. I am 26 and he is nearly 29. Such a unmature person. He told me he was tolerating all my previous behavior from our previous meetings. Reality is I treat him food every time we meet. I borrowed some money him. But he did his best of best to yell and shout and insult me - telling nonsense. He said I was offending the girl but the girl was clearly into me. I never thought this guy hated me. As from my friend perspective, these are all normal. The guy wanted special hospitality from me, but when he knowed I treat him normal he went mad. Talking more and more he could not control his anger. I know if I confront a bit we have to fight. Previously I faced a similar situation like this with my university bro who is good guy to me. I apologized and decided to sleep, problem solved. I tried to use that tactics this time but it was totally wrong. This guy thought I was afraid and become worst and wrost. So my best friend yelled at him twice and so he left. Summarized and TLDR; I was faced clear insult. Instead of facing him manly and directly, I tried to use tactic ,which I used once with my close friend, apologiesing not to worse condition and avoiding fight. But after realising the guy behavior and intention to insult me, I could not stand and regret I did not confront back. How you handle this situation? For reference everyone knows he is unmatured. submitted by /u/phyowinko
