I asked the same question on the french « askmen »subreddit, and the answers were interesting: My best friend took six months to realize he was dating a real bitch. At first, everything seemed normal, but little by little, the signs were there: she spoke rudely to waiters at restaurants, would casually criticize a stranger’s appearance on the street for no reason, and had this talent for putting people down without any justification. The turning point? He invited her over to his parents’ house for dinner to introduce her. During dinner, everything went perfectly. The atmosphere was warm, and she was absolutely lovely with his parents… It was as if they had already “approved” of her. But as soon as they left, she started criticizing his mother’s outfit, her voice, her “undercooked” cream pie… as if it were completely normal. That’s when my friend finally opened his eyes: he wasn’t just dating someone who was difficult. He was dating someone who spends her time tearing down everyone around her. submitted by /u/lola_rossi
