Had the sudden idea to see if AI could guess IQ from conversations and random bits of info it needs from me (I had from psychoeducational testing done as a kid so have a formal IQ score). Chat GPT was off, significantly. Claude’s (Opus 4.6 Extended) estimate was right on the money, my tested IQ was squarely in the middle of its estimated range (it gave a 10 point range, mine was literally in the middle). As a caveat, I use Claude a lot more than I use Chat GPT. Claude was working off of much more data (knew my academic background, various projects I’ve been working on that I’ve used Claude to tweak, etc). It went through and gave its reasoning for why it estimated the score it did and of the things it mentioned was “conversational markers” and referenced the way I interacted with it as a data point. Anyone else try this who’s had their IQ formally tested? If so, how close or off was the LLM? submitted by /u/4714O
