Sharing here to spread a little positivity in a sea of gloom and doom about the job market in Switzerland. I was laid off from my last company a month ago and then rehired with a worse contract and role a week later. Well, yesterday I got an offer for a better role, at a better company, with better compensation! I had interviewed with the same company for another role some time ago, but I did not get that job. They called me back this year for an even better role, and this time I got it. I am so happy!! I spend a lot of time here on Reddit, and the general commentary about the Swiss job market is very negative (and with reason, things are tough at the moment). But I want to remind everyone that new jobs are still offered, even in this difficult economy, and sometimes they are good jobs with good conditions. Also, this is a reminder for myself that sometimes things don’t work out initially, because there is a bigger opportunity waiting for you down the line. Times are tricky, and the struggle for many of us in Switzerland is real. Let’s not forget that good things can still happen to us. submitted by /u/LallieDoo
