I used to think gray was the safest color. Neutral, simple, easy to match. But when it came to sweating, gray turned out to be one of the worst choices. It comes down to contrast. Very dark colors like black absorb moisture and hide the difference between dry and wet areas. White reflects light and tends to diffuse moisture marks so they are less defined. But gray sits in the middle. When moisture hits it, the wet area becomes noticeably darker than the surrounding fabric. That contrast is what makes underarm stains stand out so clearly. I learned this the hard way after avoiding certain situations in gray shirts and feeling distracted the entire time. It was not that I was sweating more than usual. The fabric just made it obvious. Color choice is not just about style. For people who sweat easily, it is also about how fabric reacts to moisture and light. Has anyone else noticed certain colors are much less forgiving than others? submitted by /u/Top_Respect3783
