Over the past few months, I’ve been experimenting with platforms like Peec AI, Otterly, Goodie AI, LLMClicks, AthenaHQ, Profound, Rankscale, Knowatoa , plus beta features from Nightwatch and Semrush . I’m not affiliated with any of them. Just sharing hands-on experience because there’s a lot of noise around “AI visibility” right now. Here’s what actually stood out. Pricing Differences (Bigger Than Expected) The pricing gap between platforms is massive. Entry level (~$29–$79/month) Mostly focused on: Brand mention checks Limited prompt tracking Basic competitor comparisons Mid range (~$99–$299/month) Usually adds: Multi-model monitoring (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini) Entity association tracking Trend history Better competitor scoring Higher tier / enterprise ($500–$2000+/month) Includes: Large-scale query tracking API access Custom dashboards Advanced reporting layers The interesting part? The price jump is huge but the core measurement logic is often very similar. What They’re Actually Measuring After testing across multiple accounts, most platforms do some variation of: Send structured prompts to LLMs Check if your brand appears Compare mention frequency vs competitors Track changes over weeks/months Create an “AI visibility score” Methodology differs slightly, but the foundation is nearly the same. What I Observed From Real Testing Increased Mentions Didn’t Equal Traffic Even when brand mentions improved inside AI answers, I didn’t see: Major referral traffic increases Clear Search Console impression jumps Immediate revenue lift It felt more like: Positioning validation Entity clarity measurement Messaging strength check Not direct growth. Prompt Wording Changes Everything Small phrasing changes dramatically changed outputs. “Best local SEO providers” vs “Top GMB management platforms agencies use” Completely different brand visibility patterns. That makes me question whether we’re measuring: Authority Or prompt alignment Still unclear. Model Variability Is Real ChatGPT results ≠ Perplexity results ≠ Claude results. Some weeks visibility improved. Next week it dropped without any major content changes. So daily tracking feels meaningless. Long-term trend analysis makes more sense. Where These Platforms Actually Helped Identifying weak brand positioning Understanding competitor narrative Seeing how clearly your niche is defined Internal strategy conversations Enterprise brand monitoring Where I Think Expectations Are Too High Not comparable to Search Console No clear ROI formula yet Expensive tiers don’t always give deeper insight Doesn’t replace strong SEO fundamentals If your SEO, content, and messaging are weak, these platforms mostly expose that. They don’t fix it. My Honest Take Right now, Peec AI, Otterly, Goodie AI, LLMClicks, AthenaHQ, Profound, Rankscale, and Knowatoa feel like early-stage measurement layers for AI-driven search environments. Interesting. Potentially important long term. But still experimental. Curious what others are seeing: Any real traffic impact? Are clients asking for AI visibility reports yet? Which pricing tier actually felt worth it? Would love to compare real experiences. submitted by /u/Real-Assist1833
