Sorry for the doomposting in advance. This had been eating at me and I have to share. Remember when AI was this cool, almost-alien technology? You write to it a prompt and get interesting replies. Some were weird, some funny, some deep, some nonsensical. It was mildly cool and quirky. Then month by month, it started getting more intelligent… which was nice, it could automate some things for you, let you do things that you couldn’t, give advice. Etc. Now? I have realized it’s a tool for mass surveillance, endless war, making regular humans obsolete and keeping the rich eternal God-Emperors with ownership of all the compute. Everything you have said to it such as your thoughts, views, plans… it will be centralized and fed into a detailed profile that shows everything you have ever done and said in your life, from then the AI will cross-reference and make an assessment of you. In the near future predicting actions you take or what nudge you need to take them will be quite easy. Especially with the recent OpenAI debacle, the shameless plain-faced lying about what DOW will use it for, SAMA pretending to do an AMA then only replying to his kiss-ups.
