On multiple occasions on the trains that go from Lausanne to Geneva I have seen controllers catching youngsters (group of male teenagers) without tickets. Instead of fines they let them go with a warning on the next stop where they just catch the next train or climb one of the other carriages. On another occasion the controllers were even afraid to talk (two female controllers) to this group of teenagers afraid of what might happen. Typically this happens at night.
