Hi everyone I’m now 25 years old and considering applying for Swiss citizenship. My father was also born in Switzerland but never applied for citizenship himself. For a while, I didn’t think much about it, but now I’d like to take active steps. I’ve heard that I’m not required to serve in the military anymore at this age, but I also read that there’s a fee of 3% of my annual income, with a minimum of 400 CHF. Is there a cap as well, around 2,000 CHF or so? If that’s the case, that seems quite high to me. Are there ways to reduce these costs, perhaps through civil service or other options?
