My experience of failing the first driving exam. I have driving license from a third country but I never drove much so I didn’t try the conversion and took driving lessons. Teacher said 80% I could pass. I came with private car and we first went to hill start to check the hand brake so we could get on the road. Then we went to complete unknown places that my driving teacher never took me and there on an 80 road, I recognized the red Fahrverbot near the road entry and braked quite harsh to maybe 40 to enter the next road. He said I was too late to see the sign, I was driving unsafe. Then the whole ride was ok for the things that I have learned to watch out for, e.g. Blicksystematik, Einspuren, Blinker, stop at pedestrian lane etc. But he asked me to drive into a 20 zone near a line of buildings. I didn’t wait behind the talking people in the street who didn’t notice me but tried to overtake them. He did the hand brake, which they noticed and went away, and I could drive further. That was the failing point. After the exam, he said I could horn them (I asked in the city am I not supposed to do it? He didn’t answer) We drove a full 45min and he wrote a lot of things in my report, like not environmentally friendly driving on Autobahn etc, which on the other hand, if I drove slower, I think he’s going to write, not driving up to speed, which I was trying to avoid (also on that 80 country road). And that I am too indecisive to enter a road when I don’t have priority. And I don’t hold the wheel straight when I look into the mirror. I was never in a 20 zone in my training and felt it was set up to fail me. Maybe I’m now emotional and feeling unfair. I ride a bike every day and the cars are driving so much worse than me. And they let them on the street and I drive safely but am rejected the license. I feel I have to be an olympics sportsman to make a perfect exam… submitted by /u/Least_Brain_3265
