Hi everyone, I am planning to import a vehicle from Germany to Switzerland soon and I have a few specific questions regarding the process. I would really appreciate your insights on the following points: • Permit Requirements: Do I strictly need to hold the physical “B” permit to complete the import and registration process, or is the « submission for B permit from my city » is sufficient to get the paperwork started? • Import Agencies (e.g., Import-Butler): I am considering using a service like Import-Butler. They charge around 1,500 CHF for a “door-to-door” service. When factoring in the costs of a plane ticket, fuel, hotel, and the administrative stress, it seems like a fair deal. Has anyone used them or a similar service recently? Was it worth the peace of mind compared to doing it yourself? • Cantonal Registration (Neuchâtel vs. Vaud): I currently live in Neuchâtel but plan to move to Vaud in a few months. I noticed a significant difference in the CO2 tax/annual registration fees on the official websites—Neuchâtel seems to be nearly three times cheaper than Vaud. Is it legally possible (and strategically better) to register the car in Neuchâtel first before moving, or will I have to pay a price adjustment when I change my address to Vaud? Thank you very much for your help and feedback! submitted by /u/CharlemagneFr
