I think AI will do the opposite. It will make us dumber and use our brains less at least in the short term.
When you can ask AI to do something for you, you rarely choose the hard road to do it yourself or get it to teach you to do it yourself.
My golden rule in life - humans are fundamentally lazy. Or maybe lazy is not the right word, but people take the easy road over the hard road every time. Anywhere there is a paved long way around or a little cut through the trees, you’ll see a beaten path through the trees.
There are of course exceptions to this rule like all rules, but if there is an easy path (AI does it for you) most people will take it over the harder path (AI teaches you).
I know this might not be what was meant by enlightened here, but this is my interpretation of what general AI use will mean.
