Every man who has ever lived began inside a woman’s body. That’s biological reality. Yet in the dominant Abrahamic traditions, the creation story symbolically flips that truth; woman is created from man, then blamed for humanity’s fall. On top of that, God is almost always referred to as male, and religious authority has historically been controlled by men. Women’s bodies and sexuality are regulated far more heavily than men’s within these same systems. From your perspective, is that just historical coincidence? Or is religion one of the ways male authority has been reinforced over something men can’t biologically do themselves? I’m genuinely curious how men reconcile the fact that they originate from women, yet most spiritual authority has been framed as male and divinely sanctioned. submitted by /u/HabitFearless8232

because biologically. on average, men can more easily conduct violence on women.
